Following the culloden defeat in 1746 Fort George was built as a defence against any further Jacobite unrest. Positioned strategically on a promontory jutting into the Moray Firth the fort is still a working army barracks today, whilst still welcoming visitors to view it's unique history.
This painting was commissioned by the Officers of the Black Watch, 3rd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland. September 2012.
