A view of Dingwall from Alcaig on the Black Isle with Ben Wyvis in the background.
You can see the Macdonald Monument on the hill on the left handside which is situated in the cemetery overlooking the town built between 1904 - 07 to commemorate Sir Hector Macdonald, a local crofter's son who rose through the ranks of the 92nd Gordon Highlanders, eventually taking command of the army in Ceylon.
Also the Pap, the small hill below Ben Wyvis, a good walk reached by driving up the Heights, walking over the Skiach River, then following the track. You can get great views right over towards Nigg Bay from here.
This is a pastel painted on fine sandpaper which gives it a good 'tooth' to hold onto.
Size of ACTUAL artwork 26 x 20 cms.
